This Race Bike started life as a 2012 Yamaha R1

The project was to turn this bike into a competitive race machine. The standard 14b has issues with handling so the first job was to remove the standard suspension. The rear was replaced with an Ohlins TTX rear shock and the fork cartridges were replaced using Ohlins NIX cartridges. This couples with the YEC shock link and dogbone transformed the bike into a bike with sweet handling. The standard front callipers were upgraded to Brembo giving the bike powerfull stopping force.

The KRG Race Bike is a 2009 Yamaha R1 bought by KRG to race in the North East Motorcycle Club. It was imported from Denmark and was already a huge spec bike. KRG continued the upgrades by adding Marchesini Wheels, Accasato Master Cylinder, Sigma Slipper Clutch to name but a few.

This is where it all started in the racing scene for KRG. It was a 2008 Yamaha R1 which had previously been raced in the R1 Cup and British Superstock. This bike was truly awesome and earned us our first podium in the novice class
